The Extra Duty XDT range provide high capacity cages when weight in the cage is paramount. The new XR range provide the Extended Reach you need, whilst still maintaining the high weight capacity in the cage. XR units above 56m are now able to be fitted with the 2 x 220 deg rotating cage. This takes "Up and Over" reach to a new level If extra height is required, you can't go past the High Level Articulated - HLA range. With a working height of up to 112m, we are sure to have a model to suit your needs. If your requirements are for an insulated unit, the Bronto Skylift SI range provides up to 765,000 volt insulation in 3 product sizes - 42, 52, 60 and 65m models.

Insulated Range
Bronto Bronto Skylift SI Series aerials feature insulated platform booms and are designed for work at sub-transmission and transmission lines up to 765 kV (ANSI A92.2). The heavy-duty telescopic machines enable bare-hand maintenance, inspection and repairs while the system is still energized.Live-line working capability is enabled through a fiber optic control system running inside an appr. 5 m long filamentwound fiberglass boom. The high-strength FRP boom features boom tip deflection of less than 5 cm / 500 kg of applied load. Its sealed design prevents internal contamination.Desiccants inside the boom control internal atmospheric humidity. A sharp-edge corona ring around the boom provides consistent voltage gradient along the length of the boom. A separate fiber optic intercom system provides audio communications between the platform and turntable control station.
KEY BENEFITS
  • Boom Leakage Detector indicates the actual current experienced by the platform personnel and FRP boom. Although ANSI and IEC standards allow up to 1.0 μA/kV line-to-ground current leakage, Bronto SI Series units typically exhibit a maximum current leakage of less than 0.2 μA/kV.
  • Optional radio remote control system enables the operator to position the platform onto the energized conductor from the ground, enabling a better view of the platform’s position while completely isolating the operator from the vehicle.
  • A sharp-edge corona ring provides a consistent voltage gradient along the length of the FRP boom and acts as an electrical stress relief device at the upper section by preventing potentially damaging positive corona activity on or near the FRP boom surface.
